Unable to find hard drive - laptop

After i have tried the novell desktop, now i wont to try the suse linux pro version 9.3 i have download the full DVD from suse ftp.

The problem is when im installing it doesn’t recognise any hard drive in my acer travelmate laptop (novell desktop as worked great).

I have search trough google and have find more people with the same problem in different laptops.

Is there any solution to this?

Thank you.

Some times the parameters of the bios are not read well.

Normally in the bios the recognition of the hard disk is auto.

Copy the parameters, switch to user and enter the parameters.

Sometimes this solves the problem with laptops.

I had the same problem on my laptop when I tried out suse 9.3.
I had to issue the following for boot parameters:

Code:

insmod=ide-generic

hope this helps.

Not a problem.
When you boot from the CD, highlight the installation option and then type in the code and press enter.
