trying to dual boot with WinXP on external USB
Suse 9.1, AMD 2500, 512 MB RAM, kernel 2.6.5-7xxxdefault
Suse is set up on an internal 3.5" 80GB IDE drive. I am trying to set up a 2.5" drive to be an external USB drive from which I can boot WinXP, which is already installed. I have a mount point for the drive at /mnt/usb, which when I do "mount /mnt/usb ", displays all the files inside. I have even written a few files to it for good measure. I altered Grub through YAST to ###Don't change this comment - YaST2 identifier: Original name: Windows XP on USB### title Windows XP on USB rootnoverify (hd2) chainloader +1 makeactive and the error message when I try to boot through Grub is "Drive does not exist." The map in Grub shows two names for USB: hd2 & hd3. The fstab line for the drive is: /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb vfat auto,users,rw,umask=0 0 0 [ I changed to auto from noauto and it did not make a difference.] Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks ## rasta |
