In Suse 10.1, which I have been using for about a year, I mounted a slave HDD by editing /etc/fstab by adding an entry -
"/dev/hbd1" "/mnt/slave" "etc2" "0 0"
after making the mount point, in /mnt/slave.
Then with the Fat 32 slave HDD in the box as a slave, as root, in a consol, I typed - mount /dev/hdb1 /mnt/slave then the slave drive was useable, I use it for storage, occasionaly.
I now setting up Suse10.3, I have edited fstab & made a mount point as above, but after typing the mount command I get the message - "you must specify the file system" -this did not happen with 10.1.
Have I missed something ? Help please.
Thanks forrestt, sorry typing error, I meant ext2, I used the first of your codes that you give, should I have entered vfat instead of ext2. The drive is FAT32.regards.
