To enlarge viewable screen

Hi!
I have installed SUSE 9.3 and just before booting CD1 I did make the choice for the resolution 1024x768 (or something like that). Consequently the viewable screen did enlarge accordingly (durring the install process). However, before the automatic configuration I did an update (it was an installer offer). Now, after the usual configuration, my viewable screen has shrunk back and all fonts are extremely small. I guess the file to edit in this case should be either /etc/X11/xorg.conf or /etc/X11/xorg.conf.install (or even /etc/X11/xorg.conf.saxsave) but I do not know which one (assuming I'm right) and how to modify it. Anyway, in each one of these files I have everywhere
Code:
DisplaySize 320 240
Is this the place to modify? If true, what is the file to edit and what to put instead?
Thanks!

i faced the same thing before, the screen shrunk, i try to adjust but the effect is not good, after that i laughed, it is actually an easy job, just use the buttons on your monitor (CRT) to enlarge it.

Hi!
I deliberately avoided this solution

just use the buttons on your monitor (CRT) to enlarge it

simply because the monitor's setting is already tuned for the other (previously installed) OSs. In fact it was tuned once (when bought, for the first OS) and then this tuning proved fine whenever installing or reinstalling any other OS, except for this last one (SUSE). So I'm wondering whether the new tuning will still work for the other OSs or I would be in a position to permanently retune it according to reboots. Could you say anything in this respect?
Thanks!

You can replace the current xorg.conf file with its backup.

The backup file would be xorg.conf.backup (Considering everything was fine before things got awry! )
