ThinkPad T60 freezes while on battery
My ThinkPad T60 as started to intermittently freeze when running on battery. I'm looking for hints at how to track down the source.
I have OpenSUSE 10.2 with kernel version 2.6.18.8-0.7 and the following ATI packages: x11-video-fglrxG01-8.36.5-7.1 ati-fglrxG01-kmp-default-8.36.5_2.6.18.8_0.3-2.1 in case that helps. |
I had the same problem with a Dell cpx650 with 256 meg of memory. I increased the memory to 512 and it solved the problem. It seems that on battery the cpu runs at half speed and the memory is at minimum at best.

I doubt mine is a memory problem since I have 1Gb of RAM. It is a dual core @ 2 GHz.
I am running KDE 3.5.5. I mention that because I was playing with enlightenment on my evening commute today and had no freezes. Mind you, it is only a sample of size 1. |
This thread has been quiet for awhile, but I'm posting again since I have some more information. I think that my lock-ups may be related to SuperKaramba. I decided to turn it off for a test and have had two successful battery operated commutes in a row.
