System messed up after zypper dup (openSUSE 12.2 + Tumbleweed)

I'm trying to try out openSUSE with Tumbleweed but I can't.

I follow this (quite straightforward) http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Tumbleweed

After zypper dup ends, when reboots always there are Gnome crashes. I tried to reinstall Gnome but same behavior. I removed it, installed XFCE, neither works..

I've tried with both VBox and VMWare Player.

A question ?
did you heed the warning with "tumbleweed "?
Quote:
Due to the Linux kernel being updated very frequently, users who rely on proprietary graphic drivers should not use the Tumbleweed repository unless they are familiar with updating these drivers from source on their own.
also what third party repos are you using ?
"open build system" is NOT compatible
" Packman " might NOT be compatible

-- to quote a warning --
Quote:
The only supported method of repo use for Tumbleweed is to have only the main repos (Oss, Non-oss, and Update)

you might want to have a read through the "tumbleweed" forum over at Opensuse.org
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/g...re/tumbleweed/

and the sticky
"New Users: Tumbleweed Articles and other Resources"
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/g...resources.html

you will need to register with novell ,they are in charge of the forum

using Tumbleweed requires a lot of work on your part
