System backup takes several hours to complete

I installed basically everything on the 5 SuSE 9.3 install CDs. So I'm using 10 GB now out of 160 GB. When I backup the OS partition (hda2) it takes about 20 minutes using Partimage (gzip-compression selected). But when I use the YaST2 system backup facility it takes several hours to complete. I excluded the /mnt-directory where I have another 40 GB hard drive.

You could set up a backup system that only copies the files that have changed. The cp command can be told to do so with the -u option. My hard drive to hard drive backup takes about 2 minutes copying only the updated files.

I'm not using cp

I'm not using cp I'm using Kmenu > controll center > YaST2 modules > System > backup system. But I think I'll use Partimage instead.
