Syslog-ng

Hello,

I am trying to get sylog-ng to receive incoming connections. If you have any experience with this matter can you please help me. I am using SLES 9.0.

Thanks!

P.S. I realize that I can use syslogd with the option of "-r" However, I would like to use syslog-ng.

how far have you got then? looking and "man syslog-ng.conf":
Quote:

SOURCES
You can declare source statements using the "source" keyword:
...
* udp <ip>,<port> - network source using the UDP protocol. If you do not want to bind to a specific interface use 0.0.0.0.
although it suggests that without it being decalred, it will listen on all interfaces, udp port 514.

can a syslogd client talk to a syslog-ng daemon?
