Suse10.2 beta2 & OpenOffice

Hi,
I installed SuSE 10.2 beta2 some days ago. I wanted to see how it works. Well, there are some minor bugs but nothing special. Now I tried for the first time, OpenOffice. I started it, the small window opened but nothing happened. Only processor power is up to 99%. I restarted computer, started OO again and the same thing happened. I started to write the thread, when there is OO Writer window opened. Starting to adjust some things and when I come to Language, click on it and everything stopped. Again processor is running on 99% of its power. I waited for some minutes and there it is again, the writer opened. Why, any idea???

Are you using the x86-64 version?

If you are, I believe they are having some issues with the OOo 64 bit version. Last time I checked, they were having some issues in the 10.2 beta 2 and also the 10.3 alpha.

10.2 final is apparently going to be shipped with the 32 bit version of OOo to avoid the problem, but they're hoping to fix the issue for the 10.3 release.

Hi pdeman2,
yes i am using x86_64 version of SuSE 10.2 beta2. I believe that OO is the same version. I have been checking it again this morning and I am sure that the problem is with Java. When I go into Tools>Possibilities>install and check on Java the CPE goes up to 98% and it takes quite a lot of time to open the install window. After that it is almost normal, I mean it works and other windows open normally. When I try to reopen OO again, it takes minutes to open in the writer window. Then it works normally.
