SUSE not recognizing hda
Howdy all,
I ran Suse live 9.3 off the DVD and it worked like a charm so I decided to install. When I started the install it can't see my hard drive. I have 2 partitions and a swap, and when I launch the fedora rescue I can see them fine. I can also see them in xp, but nothing with suse. I think this same thing happened to me a while ago when I tried to install Mandrake, I just couldn't see my hard drive. This has been driving me crazy as I need to get this machine running for school. Any ideas? I ran the checksums and the cd's are ok. I tried the DVD and the cd's. I have one partition ntfs (with all my junk on it) one ext3 and 1G swap. Like I said, every other rescue I run sees it just fine. Any ideas??? Sony Vaio 3.6G 1G ram 64Mv 80G hd... THANKS!!! |
Sometimes it helps to boot with the option 'insmod=ide-generic' (to be typed at the grub menu screen).
