Try to start with 'Manual Installation' and load the modules yourself. I suppose you are trying an FTP installation? In manual mode, you need to have the IP address of the FTP server (not the DNA resolved address). Don't forget to load the drivers for the filesystems you would like to use later.
Originally posted by abisko00 The mini-installation.iso is merely a boot CD and will need external sources (FTP, SMB, NFS, local filesystems, etc.).
the mini installation is more than a boot cd, it is supposed to load and allow you to FTP the SUSE modules you want to install instead of downloading the full 3.2 GB ISO see http://support.novell/product/tips/10028.html

What else did I say?
It is a boot CD that allows you to access web resources. Nothing else! There is not a single package included, except a kernel and its modules. Sorry, I forgot to mentione the rescue system.
