Suse Firewall and Ports

Hi! I have two PCs at home. My computer has an ADSL connection, connected to a NIC. My son has another computer, linked to mine through a second NIC. I'm running SuSE 9.1, but he's on Windows (!!!). I'm running SuSE firewall to protect my network.

The problem: my kid wants to run many games that allow for multiplayer gaming via the Internet, but he cannot join any games. My guess is that the games try to connect to certain ports (for example, a chess program tries using port 5000) but the firewall doesn't allow the connection.

How do I allow him access to such ports? Of course, removing the firewall isn't an option, though he insists on my doing so! ;-)
