Suse & ATI card TV out

Hi all,

I am trying to configure my Suse 9.2 installation to do tv out, every thing seems ok, as the machine is booting I am able to see the post (this is through a S-Vid connection to my TV), it does the whole system start up, then poof* the vid card goes out of range for the tv just as it fires up the X desktop.

I have started up the machine connected to my monitor, and I can check what the screen size is and refresh in my monitor's menu.
And during the whole startup it's at 640x480@60Hz, but then it loads the X desktop and kicks the refresh to 120Hz. Now when I go into the control center and try and change my refresh rate I do not have the choice of 60Hz, I have 58Hz and 65Hz, I am thinking those are PAL settings and not NTSC-N (Canada, I think its N) like I need.

Also to make things more fun the ATI card I have, does dual output.
I have also tried setting the vid card to clone both displays, which disables the display settings in the control center, I have also tried getting the settings done under YAST and the desktop always comes up at the right resolution but never the right refresh.

Please help I think my head is going to pop!
Any Idea's?

let me know if I need to post any config files.

Thanks all!

Last night I tried connecting my TV and monitor up at the same time and set the displays to clone, but I still could not get the TV to display any images, I finnally forced the X to run at 640x480@60Hz and the TV was out of sync, same with 800x600.
I am stumped anyone got any ideas?
