suse 92 irreparable crash

excuse me for my english.

I have installed suse 9.2 professional on my PC and i don't have no one else operating system installed.
I have an anonymous micro atx mainboard with agp integrated chipset nvidia TNT2 ALADDIN and chipset ALI.
Installation has been completed with success, but when i enter in KDE33 system sometimes crash irreparable and i can't switch on the console for kill KDE but i have to shutdown the pc with the button.
I enter in the bios and i have changed the option ACPI with APM and now the system seems stable.
Someone have the same problem?
The ACPI option changed with APM should be the solution for my problem?
Or there are prblems with agp adapter?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the power management feature could cause problems like this. I usually disable power management on desktop systems (in the BIOS as well as the OS) to avoid the headaches. Worth a try.

If you can identify the motherboard, BIOS, etc., someone may be able to help out more. Is there really such a thing as an "anonymous" motherboard? :-)

Don't say that, you might run into one! Yes, there are. They tend to be so cheep that the manufacturer doesn't want credit for their shoddy workmanship. I hope I never run into another one again! (I'd rather run into some cheesy manufacturer than a truly no-name board.)
