SuSE 9.3 Pro GRUB Hangs?!

Hi,

I have installed SUSE 9.3 Pro on may laptop to dual boot with Windows XP. I have accomplished this task with no problems before with both RedHat and SUSE 9.1

I am using GRUB as the bootloader with all of the default options apart from Windows being the default boot image.

Upon reboot the system hangs with a black screen showing "GRUB _". Thats it...

If I use a Windows Xp install CD and don't select for it to boot from CD, the correct GRUB bootloader menu appears with no problems. I can also boot if I use the SUSE install CD and select 'Boot from Hard Disk'.

I have tried doing a repair of the boot partition using the SUSE CD, but I'm not quite sure what I should be repairing.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be great.

make a boot floppy http://users.ameritech.net/gholmer/h...ot-floppy.html

test it make sure its working make sure you can boot in to widows and linux with it, if it all works using yast change the boot loader location to master boot record of the first hard drive/partition then click finish.
