Suse 9.3 - OpenOffice Pre-Release
Hi everybody!
In Suse 9.3 there is a pre-release of openoffice included. So will there be an update to the final release over YOU or do they only bugfix the pre-release of openoffice? If anybody have information about this, please let me know. Bye Cybers19 |
Yes. If you read the SuSE 9.3 release notes they do mention that an update through YOU will be provided when 2.0 is stable.

Thanks for this information!
I think i will buy Suse 9.3 today and give it a try. bye |
Enjoy :-)

Yesterday i installed it.
My first impresion is that it looks very nice. All things - exception is the scanner - work very well and the look and feel is pretty good. the only crazy thing is my boot splash screen. It looks very crazy and i don't know why. :( Does anybody has the same problem? This is not a big problem, because the systems works fine but it is a "nice to have" if the boot splash screen is displayed in the right colors. My Hardware is: - Asus A8V-X - Athlon64 3400+ - Ati X800 Pro - Acer TFT 1280x1024 which is found by suse 9.3 - Suse 9.3 Pro 32-Bit Maybe someone knows what is going wrong with the boot splash screen. bye Cybers19 |
What colours is yours?

I noticed that you had the following equipment and I am curious why did you install the 32-bit when you have an Amd64?

@SML
1) Because there is no big performance advantage if i install 64 bit. 2) Not all Software is compatible (Plugins for browsers, etc) 3) If i compile a softwre, i can run it on any other machine in my network without configuring something. I do not have to confiuge my compiler for 32 & 64 bit. @equinox It looks like that my system only uses 16 colors. After KDM starts up i have 24Bit colors and my console is also fine. I've got this behavior already in 9.2. |
just change the splash to something easier then ;)
|
I do not think that this will solve it. :tisk:
The boot splash screen is the default from suse and on my second computer (P3 500 GF2 MX) the splash screen is ok. If i start Fedora the splash screen is also displayed with full colors on my amd machine. Maybe i have to compile the kernel with a special set of modules or i have to set a parameter in the boot loader?:confused: |
i resolved the problem.
i set vga=0x31a and now it works. bye |
