suse 9.3 mouse freezes

If I leave my computer alone I come back & find that the mouse is unresponsive.....

I have a Logitech USB mouse -

Is this something to do with the mouse drivers or to do with screen savers /power management etc?

doesn't matter which window manager I use

any ideas??

suse 9.3 for x86_64

thanks

are you sure it hasn't crashed? If you do ALT + F1 on the keyboard,
does the start menu come up?

the keyboard works fine, I can type etc.

also if "frozen" I can still use the computer if I ssh into it etc.

(my work involves data analysis that takes 24hrs to run, so I leave it on for this time to run. However the mouse freezing problem isn't related to computing "load" - as it'll freeze anytime I have left it for a while - which makes me think it's something to do with screensaver/ standby / power management / x ....)

thanks for your help

ok next time it freezes do:
ALT + F2
type "Konsole"
then in Konsole type "cat /dev/mouse" and move the mouse a bit, see what come up.
