SuSE 9.3 ... KDE=fast but Gnome=slow

I heard all the hype about the speed of SuSE9.3 and over the past 3 weeks had been disappointed with the performance using Gnome. From what I could assess it actually seemed slower than previous versions

Tonight, I decided to login with KDE and I was amazed!

All the menus flash up instantly with no delay. Applications open and flash up quicker. Just generally more responsive.

No more Gnome for me!

Has anyone else noticed this speed difference?

BTW - I am using the 64 bit version.

i've noticed the speed difference in very version of suse i've ever used. suse is primarily a kde happy environment, and seems more geared towards using kde rather than gnome, so between the 2, i've always noticed drastically improved performance when using kde vs gnome in suse.
