SUSE 9.3 KDE autostart

I added a console "reminder" utility to my ~/.kde/Autostart directory so I would get a calendar reminder on KDE login. But after the utility executes the shell dies, so all I see is a white flash. How do I tell the shell to not terminate?

Instead of your script use KOrganizer in the kdepim package.
