Suse 9.3 Install Hangs at Hardware Configuration Screen

This machine has always had issues with Suse's printer detection, however 9.2 installed fine. Now when I'm trying to install 9.3 it just hangs. I've let it sit for over an hour with no luck. Any ideas how to get it to actually complete?

Right now I've just ctl-alt-backspaced out of X and rebooted the machine, then do the individual hardware detection one at a time in Yast, but I'd like to get an actual clean install to start this off with.

try the no acpi stuff option on install when you first boot from cd/dvd.
sounds like it dislikes one of the pieces of hardware. if the no acpi and safemode install still hang, i'd strip your pci cards out and try that, find the offending one. if you've got integrated ones, try disabling them. that's really about all i can think of to try, unless it's a corrupted media. try media testing your install source.
last but not least, do the memtest option. ram could be a factor.
