SUSE 9.3 cant switch to init 3
Hi GURUs,
I was trying to install fglrx on my comp. When I as root start init 3, I get the following message: " module smbus_arp not found" and then system is switched back to level 5. Is there a solution to solve the problem, besides reinstalling the system???

Maybe double-check and make sure oyu have the needed files?
Also, if you have updated via YaST, it has been causing troubles with alot of people, as it seems to have a bug in it where it corrupts the RPM database. Just some food for thought

You can install "fglrx" through Yast, for me it did not create any problem, as yast already takes care of dependencies.

Yeah, YaST takes care of dependencies. There is also a list of dependencies you can look over if you don't trust YaST. Also, if you havn't messed with the install files too much, there shouldn't be a problem...
