If I downloaded the full(Dual layer) DVD, and removed the 64 bit stuff, would it be small enough to fit on a single regular DVD? And would removing the x86_64 RPM's screw up the installation(on a x86 machine)? There's just sooo many RPM's on the DVD and not on the CD's/DVD compilations of CD's (http://www.novell.com/products/linux...ff_cd_dvd.html). I know I could download them, but I would prefer to just be able to atleast attempt an upgrade without losing half the stuff I have installed in 9.2.

the x86 packages will fit on a single later dvd and you won't miss the 64 bit packages unless you have a 64 bit processor.

I just added a user-submitted script that's supposed to merge the 5 individual ISOs into a single large ISO that you can burn to a DVD. I haven't tried it myself though because I use the CDs to make network install source instead which, for me, works even better than a DVD.
I wish someone would explain how this link works maybe you have to have suse first to run this, I'am on Mandrake and cannot figure how to make this link work.

The torrent client disappears when downloaded and I can't find it or run it on Mdk 10.1
a step by step of how to download the 64 bit by torrent would be useful.

Better still a normal download site of iso's via ftp would be much easier for me to understand.

are you trying to download the torrent or have you already downloaded the 5 cds and now just want to use this script to merge them?

to download 5 cds.
  1. download the torrent file.
  2. open torrent file with your preferred bit torrent client. i prefer either azureus or the official bittorrent client.

to merge the cds if you already have them:
as i said on my site, the script was submitted by someone else and merging the 5 cds into a single ISO doesn't really interest me personally. but, i have run through it a couple of times now just to see how it works -- it definitely ran smoothest when i used a box already running suse. i tried running it on another box, running trustix, and it failed miserably. the box i successfully ran it on was running suse 9.1.

i have both a written statement and a verbal statement directly from novell/suse that says otherwise.
