SuSE 9.2: Recompile php with --enable-session

I need to update php to include --enable-session. I assume that the existing --disable-session setting is part of default build for PHP Version 4.3.8 on SuSE 9.2. Can I update the existing rpm?

I used YAST to install the php4-session extension module but that did not seem to change my phpinfo.php output.

Any suggestions?

Iīve noticed that same thing. But if you install the php-session package sessions are enabled. You can try it with

<?php session_start(); ?>

You donīt need to recompile php or anything. Phpinfo still says you that sessions are disabled, but that is not the case.
