Suse 9.2 Pro vs 9.1 Personal

What are the differences? Is it worth upgrading? My friend has the 5 cd install, is it worth upgrading?

The most major difference is that the Pro software includes the GNU compiler collection, meaning that you can install or develop software from source without having a big GCC download first.

Obviously, 9.2 has lots of improvements over 9.1; it has later versions of most software (including X.Org instead of XFree86, with KDE 3.3 so expect some visual improvements, eg. in transparency handling). Numbers at http://www.novell.com/products/linux...tures/new.html

YES. I think the Pro version is better, as you get all the software resourses as already mentioned. ALso KDE 3.3 is better, KMenu Editor actually works... I've just bought 9.2pro from Amazon, and got a fat manual which is excellent. If you buy the distro you get it on DVD too. PLUS all the source. It has firefox 1.0PR built in, realplayer, etc etc.
