Suse 9.2 package selections seems smaller

Anyone notice that the Suse 9.2 pacakage selection on the DVD doesn't seem to have all the goodies that one is used to seeing?

I have to removable hard-drives bays 1 has Fedora and number 2 is now Suse 9.2, When I install it and get to the software selection. I choose package list and darned if I'm a bit amazed that it seems rather bare.

Gosh, look in the games and compare to suse 9.1 or fedora.
I never could find kopete or even ftp servers.

Just in general it seems like you don't get the choices for software and applications like you used to get.

Thanks,
Doug

I've not noticed a difference.

9.2 comes on a double layer DVD, 9.0 came on a two sided DVD. A few packages were removed because they were no longer supported by the devs or unnecessary duplicates of better programs, but that is a minor change. If any thing else is different, I'm unaware of it.

The public avl. DVD for 9.2 is a single sided .iso with limited programs. There are quite a few things I didn't find on the DVD.

Are you refering to the Purchase / Retail DVD of 9.2 being a Double-Layer DVD?

Yes I am. I forgot that the downloadable .iso would have to be smaller to fit on a single DVD. All the other packages you might need are on the mirrors, AFAIK. (Except the good version of mplayer and the codecs...)
