kde error

I found the problem

When I was configuring my desktop, I found under "Behavior" that there is a tab called "Device Icons." I selected "Show device icons" and selected a few to see what would happen. The devices I thought would show up like the floppy drive and others did not show up so I forgot all about it until now. I deselected the "Show device icons" and now I do not get the error message.

Thank you so much for posting this, because today I re-installed SUSE 9.2 and did exactly the same thing with 'device icons', and then couldn't figure out what was causing my io-slave error - so you saved me hours of work!
