SUSE 9.2 Installing Thunderbird mail
 

I downloaded Thunderbird mail into it's own Directory. Unzipped the file and activated. Tried to connect to my provider which switched from verizon.net to hawaiiantel.net... When I send a test message. it comes up with invalid user and password...

It seems like thunderbird is up and running. All you need to do is to find the correct settings for your provider. I fear that we can't help a lot here. Maybe your provider knows more...

I finally got Thunderbird to work.... I can receive mail but I am unable to send. I get the following error message: "Sending of message failed! the message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server smtp.hawaiiantel.net failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP server setting is correct and try again, or else contact your network administrator. Then I went into KMail with the same exact settings and so far everything works find. But I'd rather use Thunderbird mail... I tried searching for the log file but don't know the name of the log file for Thunderbird.
