And what screen do you have selected in Sax2?
What video card?
What video card driver?
Screen Resolution? Refresh Rate?
3d accerlation on or off?

If you don't know the answers to these questions, you havent tried any of suse's own help solutions that they put up for free on the web for troubleshooting video problems...

Were you able to install 9.1? If no, make sure you have the latest bios update installed. That made all the difference with my 1150.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 with SuSE 9.1 installed. Pulled my hair out over why the video didn't work.

Monitor configuration I used is SiS650/651/M650/740 PCI/AGP VGA (integrated) Display Adapter 66Mhz, 16M

It's the SiS drivers that come with the SuSE disc (I used the DVD -- not sure if the CD-ROMs are any better) that don't work. My only proof of that is a different set of drivers I downloaded from another source.

You can get a newer (better) driver from:

I used a USB drive to install. When you have the new driver ready to load, reboot the SuSE 9.1 laptop and start up in Failsafe Mode. This will not start the X11 video drivers which are screwed up. Log in as root, insert the USB drive and copy the new video driver from USB to the correct directory (instructions come with the driver).

Okay, I don't think that link is correct. I'll have to go home and look it up...

You can however Google a new driver. Search on 'SiS 650', et cetera...
