Definately works, thats what I've got on my system. Not sure if you need two machines to do this tho as I've found the install from local hard disk not so good.
I install via ftp from my file server. SMB and NFS also work well.
Once you've downloaded it's much quicker and more reliable than ftp from a remote mirror for everything.

On a 1MB download you are still looking at the best part of a working day.
Konqueror is perhaps the easiest to use as an FTP client using drag and drop as mentioned earlier.

those are for intel dont worry..
or use a psp program to download suse 9.2 isos
