SuSE 9.2 Bootsplash

Hey guys, I've got another bone to pick about suse.

I was finally able to get it to do a minimal install, and get a working system to build up from there. (God bless yast) So, my problems is that the bootsplash doesn't come up. When I do a standard install, it always installs by default - I did a minimal install to ensure the success of the operation and it doesn't install those packages by default. I installed the packages with yast, but the bootsplash is not showing up. I'm thinking it installed, but hasn't perhaps added itself to the startup sequence. Does anybody have an idea about how to fix this? Thanx in advance, -Bill

note - The package gfxboot (bootsplash thingy for LILO) does work now that I installed the package. It's weird that that would work but not the bootsplash. (and yes, I have installed both packages of bootsplash)

I am not sure about this, but you may need to re-install your bootloader.

Lilo or grub

Are you really using lilo. Cause i think default is grub. If you are using grub, open /boot/grub/menu.lst and make sure you have vga=791 (it means 1024x768 resolution to show bootsplash) in the end of kernel line, actually if i remember it starts with word image = kernel
