Suse 9.0 Personal Firewall cofiguration

why must I reconfigure the firewall each day? My ISP recently had issues that made me think it was my machine; fortunately, it was them. I'm connected at theis time, otherwise I would not be able to post this thread. For the past 4 days, I've had to reconfigure the firewall as if the settings aren't saved. I did not have to do this before my ISP flaked.
Today, I just disabled the firewall in order to connect.

Must I enter the DNS and IP information again from the beginning like a new connection?

Thanks,

Stand-alone machine

Unless your ISP have given you a fixed IP address, the device you are connecting with should be set to using DHCP.

I supect at this point there's something wrong with you network card/modem configuration file - could you post it up maybe?

If you don't know, the config file is found in /etc/sysconfig/network and will be called something like:
ifcfg-xxx where xxx is the name of the device.
