Suse 2.6.10-kernel-rpms

Id like to update/compile myself a new kernel. Im using suse 9.2
with kernel 2.6.8-24-10 ( the newest one updated with YOU)

Found some precompiled kernels on suses ftp.

Now the problem is i donīt know which packages to get.
in directory /kernel/kotd/ there are 9.2-i386 and i386 directories.

In i386 there are rpms named kernel-*-2.6.10.i386.rpm
in 9.2-i386 there are rpms named kernel-*-2.6.8-SL92_branch.rpm

Im just wondering what is the difference between
Suses basic i386 packages and the ones named SL92_branch?
Is that 2.6.8-branch packge as new as the basic 2.6.10?

2.6.10 is the latest version of the kernel. You installed 2.6.9 for me a few weeks ago IIRC. I would always tend towards the newer versions, unless you're having problems, since all 2.6 kernels are stable.
