Suse 10 Won't Recognize Hard Disk

Hello, I am having a problem installing Suse 10 on my laptop machine. I had
the same issue with Suse 9.3 Pro. I used the "insmod=ide-generic" in order
for 9.3 to install.

I have tried your suggestions { Try these parameters instead of the insmod=ide-generic:
>
> pci=usepirqmask
>
> or
>
> irqpoll}

and still it will not detect the Hard Disk. I am running a SiS5513 Chipset with a Hitachi Drive Star. It is an ECS Green 732 Mobo. I am running a P4 2.66GHz Proc. 768MB PC2700. 64MB ATI M9.

I boot off the installation CD, and when it gets to the part in
installation called "Analysing the Computer", it errors with the following
message: "Error No hard disks were found for the installation. Please check
your hardware!"

Any other ideas to get it to recognize the hard disk?

Hello!

I think disk=/dev/hda could help to force your hdd recognized.

I had the same problem. The insmod=ide-generic + removing my wireless card help. Let me know that works for you too.
