suse 10-want to upgrade to opensuse via network..
 

I have sue 10 installed from one of those free dvd's from zines. I need to upgrade I believe because of conflicts which cannot be resolved under my current distro (I think). I have wifi only for networking- attached to local AP's that are open and freely available but often slo.

I am wondering how I would go about doing a networked upgrade of my distro to the latest opensuse version?? Is this something which can be done from yast and if so how? Do I have to download an iso and save to cd, wipe current distro and do a clean installation or can I download and install 'on top' of my current distro without having to do a fresh installation? I realize it may take a long while with my network but is my only option for upgrading, cannot afford to buy dvd/cd.

Please any advice about how to best tackle this would be great!! Thansk in adance, jayd

You may want to wait till they work some of the bugs out of there updates.
One of the updates screwed up CUPS, and then another update tonight rendered my openSUSE 10.2 un-bootable.

thanks for that, I've switched back to wingdows and am hoping to install a different linux version. I am looking for a prebuilt distro which has wifi auditing tool suite included in it,,,any ideas on such a distro?

suse is good and all but buggy as all heck, and all I really wanted linux for in the first place was to 'audit' local wifi AP's. I'm sure as I learn more about admining linux I will find more use from it but for now the learning curve is just not allowing me to be at all productive when used--I spend way too much time fiddling and ironing out buggy features, just no good. (wingdows is just a terrible also but at least I know what I'm doing under it., plus one of my main uses is macromedia studio mx and have't yet figured oiut how to use it under linux without buying a linux ported version....possible?) thanks again..jd
