suse 10: rpm install of programs does not work and then i get some weird directories


whenver i try to install some program (rpm)
ex: i try to install xmms.rpm
it opens yast and then i just get the software management part, it does not install the program
and then i get the following directories in /home/myuser: a, an, directory, ls, manifest(), not, (or, package, rpm

You can install rpms using the rpm command. Take a look at the rpm (man rpm) manual or go to rpm.org.
