The rebooting is part of the install process. Just let it reboot the computer and load SuSe. The install will continue.

About the Grub error, can you provide more info about it?

Did you customize the partion?

Do you already have Windows or another OS installed?

If you already have a Os like windows on it the install will use the resizerfs to shrink the current partition by 50%(aprox.) and create a swap and linux partition. It installs the grub boot loader unless you chose the other one by default.

I'm no expert but I'll help where I can.

I have 2 hard drives one is linux and the other is windows so the grub boot loader has to be installed on windows hda1 correct? since my start up harddrive is windows according to the bios seetings.
The hdb is linux hard drive so i formated that to use as whole for suse.
when it restarts after finishing the first cd i then go boot from hard disk and then it gives me this error Grub loading, please wait
graphics file "hd0,1)/boot/message" missing, press a key to continue....
then it brings me into a text based grub when i go on suse linux 10.0

it says

Botting, SUSE LINuX 10

root (hd0,1)

Error 22: No Such Partition

Press any key to continue

when i press a key it brings me again into the text based grub.....

I'm guessing the problem is grub is installed on your 2nd hard drive and not the windows hard drive which I assume is your primary master hd0.

Try performing the install again and check to make sure grub is being put on the same drive as your windows partion.

I know what to do just not sure how to tell you(yet). Maybe a veteran can help you out on this one.

This artical might help
