Suse 10.2 - Shutdown by power switch

Hi,

I have upgraded from Suse 10.1 to Suse 10.2. Under 10.1 it was possible to press the power switch and the system has shutdown.
On 10.2 nothing happens (no really nothing, I see that the cpu and io load is going up for a short while, so the event is coming). I think it's a simple config problem, but where ???

Thanks
RGummi

In SuSE 9.3, with KDE, that would be Control Center - KDE Components - Session Manager - Default Shutdown Options, select Turn Off Computer.

There is probably such an option. Just explore the Control Center until you find it. Or, check the SuSE Admin and User Guides in /usr/share/.

Hi,

the shutdown option only says that the computer shuts down when i logoff from KDM. But I has nothing to do with the power switch I think (this is what the online help says). Do you know what script is normally called when the power switch is pressed?

PS: I have tried it with GNOME it works fine, so it's a KDE problem. By the way which desktop do you use? For testing the packetes of may Java application (http://mitglied.lycos.de/jexifviewer) I have tried a lot of distribution, and the most use GNOME and I have had the impression that GNOME is a little bit better at the moment, what do you think?

R
