Suse 10.2, installation errors, cant find 10.1, etc

As a New Year Resolution back in '06, I wanted to try out linux, primarly mandrake/mandriva. That turned out VERY well from mandrake 10.1 to 2006, then finally mandriva 2007 (leaving windows in the dust).

I wanted the same for suse now for this year, but I'm having a hard time getting anywhere.

I installed suse 10.2, x86_64 DVD, and during the first section of the installation, I get "An error occured during the installtion"

It seems to match this: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=226407

Maybe I'm blind, and the solution in there, but I'm still pretty new with linux and I still get confused over some things.
Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: sorry, I just found 10.1, but still, if anyone can help me with 10.2, that'd be great. It figures to, I look around, nothing. As soon as I post here, two minutes later, I find 10.1

Did you try to verify that the DVD (CD?) was good? That can be No. 1 problem with improper install. To check to see if the media is any good, wait until the installer boots, press abort, a screen will pop up saying that an error occurred during installation. Clear the message, then select verify media. Press OK. After awhile, see if verification worked or not. If it didn't, the media is bad and needs to be replaced. If it succeeded, the problem lies elsewhere.

edit:

thanks for your advice! I decided to redownload and burn the ISO to the DVD, and it works! I installed it, and got to the desktop, no errors!

Many thanks, and Happy New Year!
