Suse 10.1 Login Problems

hey

every time i try to log into my user (cory) at the login screen, it begins to load and then goes back to the login screen again. This does not happen if i use the root account.

I have Xgl/compiz set up and working, and other than the configuration for those, all i have done is try to log in remotely in a browser (which worked, though Xgl didnt) and that was between the time i could log in as cory and now.

My best guess is that there's something wrong with my user's settings files or whatnot

any ideas?
