suse 10.0 software update

I am new to SuSE and wanted to know how to install various software on the os and solve dependency problems. Example: I would like to install ettercap on suse 10 but using the YaST install manager does not find it. I try and add a ftp site from http://www.suse.com/us/private/downl...t_mirrors.html but when I search for ettercap it wont find it. When I try and install the rpm it finds various dependencies that I need. Although I can install this software in the long run I was wondering if there was an easier way? Is there anyway to install eterm on SuSE through YaST?

thanks

The best way to handle with extra software and automatic handling of dependencies in SuSE is apt.
apt is a rpm package manager.
Start by updating its local database by "apt update". After that, you can search and install software very easily. You may need addtional repositories. Take a look at http://linux01.gwdg.de/apt4rpm/.

You can add additional Installation Sources with YaST. That way those sources are available for dependencies. For example, add the packman site.
