SUSE 10.0: monitor shuts off

On my SUSE 10.0 machine, the monitor goes black after a few minutes. I have the screensaver set for 60 minutes, and I disabled power management under Control Center -> Peripherals -> Display -> Power Options. What else do I need to do to stop SUSE from shutting off the monitor?

have you completely disabled power options (uncheck it) or moved sliders to the extreme left?

I unchecked it.

Should DPMS be enabled or disabled if I don't want the screen going blank?
I don't see KPowerSave anywhere.

well, then check it back and move sliders extreme left. For whatever reason disabling power management will leave blanking on

in the right corner you should see kpowersave icon, right click on it and select "Kpowersave configure.."
