SUSE 10.0- GRUB boot loader problem
 

Alright, here's the problem:

Trying to install SUSE 10.0 to the external HD (USB2) and set up a floppy boot disk. (I have Windows XP on the internal HD)

After download and installing the first CD I get an error while trying to create a boot disk.

"Error occurred while installing GRUB. GNU GRUB version 0.96 (640k lower/3072k upper)
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... no
Checking if "/grub/stage1" exists... no
Error 15 file not found.

I'm not sure what to do next, any help is much appreciated!

From the literature XP is not supposed to be bootable from an external hard disk. Same goes for the Linux. You may be able to install it but the kernel may panic.
