Strange behaviour

I am getting strange behaviour on my SuSE 10.0. I boot into init 3 level. Then I do startx to get into KDE.

I prefer this approach as I like CLI. But when I try to get out of KDE and get back by doing logging out of session, my machine hangs :-(

Also when I try to suspend to disk , it hangs 1 out of 5 times!

Can someone gives me tips on this!

I currently kill KDE to get to pure CLI

If it really hangs, then it is your hardware.
Did not you overclocked your machine?

RE: Hardware

No it does, Winxp works just fine so does other distros. It is something that was fine too with Suse 9.3. It is just with Suse 10.0 I am getting this.
