Hi.
Last time I had the same problem as now, but that one was solved, thanks to LQ.org. That time when I ./configure-d my package, it could not find X. Now it can't find QT. It writes this: "checking for qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!" . Now what? Which qt or other package is missing this time? Help please. I can't create RPMs this way. Some info about my Linux: It's Suse 9.3 with KDE 3.4.
Thanks for your help.

install the QT headers and libraries.....same for X...
ive never used suse, i'm a debian man, but i have to believe there is something similar to apt-get for suse...it eliminates the need for any compiling what so ever....you simply tell it what prog you want, and it does the rest for you...
Try to think about your previous solution: you probably solved it by installing xorg-x11-devel. This time the solution is similar: install qt3-devel.
The headers that are required for development come with special packages, called -devel packages. This means that you can use qt3 with only the qt3 package installed, but if you would like to compile software with qt3 libraries, you need qt3-devel. The same applies to many more libraries. The -devel package is no longer needed after the software has been compiled successfully.

I would like to re-emphasize abisko00's "take home message". Using YaST go through and sytematically install ALL the "-devel" packages. After that, you will have no problems buiding from source. You will have all the header files you need. I have installed SuSE-9.3 on many machines, and I do this every time. It works like a champ.
