Sound "problem" and slow start on 9.2

hi! I'm running SuSE 9.2 Pro 64-bits on my AMD 64 and it's horribly slow at the startup! It's really really slow, slower then the 32bits and slower then all others i've seen. Any suggestion of what problem it might be?

And I don't get any bass through my headset. I don't know why, ofcourse I get bass when I use my speakers, but I want it in my headset too since it's a deep-bass headset. Tried switching presets and stuff (I use XMMS) but it didn't give me any effect at all.

Thanks for help.
