Unhappy sound not working.....

Hello, I just installed open suse beta 3, and I can't seem to get the sound to work. I have an "sb live! 5.1" sound card, which it seems to recognise, but I can't get a peep out of it.
Any ideas?

hi there,
do you have the module of your sound card loaded?
Code:
lsmod
did you setup volumes?
Code:
alsamixer
using kde artsd can make your life harder...

regards,

Yeah, I played arround with it some, and did set the volumes, but I think its just a software bug. I kept getting a signal 11 crash message, of something like that. At the moment, I am just playing arround with different distros trying to figure out which one I like best. I have Yoper installed right now, so I can't do an lsmod, but I did like Open Suse, in spite of the sound problems, and will try it again when the stable version comes out. Any distros that I should try while i'm at it?
