Hi Everyone (specially Mr. Bouncer)
! I am absolutely pleased that I have successfully installed SuSE 10.1 to my external HDD with all my data (windows based) intact.
Now I have 2 small problems:
1... I wish to know what I should do so that GRUB loads at bootup time. It is installed on a partition on my external HDD. I found a site which said that I need to edit the "initrd" thing by booting from the installation disk into "rescue" mode. I did so. However, when it asks for the rescue login and password, and I give the appropriate username and password (its the same that I use to login to Linux); it does not accept it and it reasks for my username and password. Is there any way I can edit anything so as to boot into Linux at bootup (i.e. have the external HDD detected).
2... How do I install a programmme? Its .rpm and a .bz something extension kind.
I know my questions might be stupid but help from any and every one who can help me with these problems would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
