Some basics - Erors + Driver
Hey.
I'm new to Linux - as you can see [my nick ^^] and i'm running SUSE 9.2, the first linux disto i've ever tried.
I'm trying to get my Video Card driver installed - we're talking about Radeon 9800P.
I tried to install it from ATI's site, but got confused with the version selecting - XFree86 / X.Org, i have no idea what those two mean, i'd like to get a brief explaination.
Also, i'd like to hear if there's an easy way installing the drivers [RPM?]
Now for the other thing, it seems that quite often when i try to install a RPM package, i just get some sort of an eror "file bla bla bla is missing" "Permission denied" and this sort of stuff, similar thing happenes with YaST, sometimes, when i choose to install a package through YaST, it will load it up, and shut it down straight away, doesn't mention any erors or problems.
Please help me with this.
