SmartLink modem drivers in 10.3

I just wanted to know if anyone has had any success with the included SmartLink drivers that are included with openSuSE 10.3 for dial-up modems. I have not had much success at this point, although the modem is recognized by wvdial, but I keep receiving a "NO CARRIER" message when attempting to connect to my ISP. I shall include more information later, but I would just like to know of any success stories first and, if so, what methods were taken in order to be so. Thanks.

After performing much research on the Internet, I finally came across an article on a website that contained the resolution to my problem. The article was written for Ubuntu, but nevertheless worked for openSuSE as well. Apparently, by adding the following line to my wvdial.conf file:

Init3 = AT+MS=34

I was able to connect to my ISP without the dreaded "NO CARRIER" message. If anyone else has been experiencing this problem, and have not yet found a fix for this, I urge you to give this a try and see what happens.
