SLES9 sysstat package fails when using interval and count parms

I am currently running SLES9 on IBM HS20 Blade servers and on a VM Ware instance. I am running kernel versions 2.6.5-7.97-smp, 2.6.5-7.97-default, 2.6.5-7.244-smp, dispersed among about ten systems.

When attempting to run mpstat, iostat, or any other performance tools in the sysstat package, the command simply hangs if used with a count or interval parameter. I am able to run the commands without parameters and get the information in a snap shot, however.

One machine running the 2.6.5-7.97-smp kernel will allow the parms, all the others will not. I cannot seem to pinpoint any major difference among the machines.

Has anyone else run across this problem?

Thanks in advance,
Dasny
